Mary Hopkins Smith, 86, a resident of Hot Springs, Ark., died April 4, 2020, in Little Rock, Ark.

She was born Dec. 3, 1933, in Newport, Ark., to the late Carl and Malissie (Williams) Ryon and was an employee of General Motors in Flint, Mich., and later was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 43 years, Rev. Hollis V. Hopkins, her second husband, Thomas E. Smith Jr., her brother, Clarence H. (Bud) McGinnis, and her son, Rev. Van Hopkins.

Mrs. Hopkins Smith is survived by three daughters, Kasondra Rodgers (John) Brown, of Bryant, Ark., Michelle (Clint) Rhoden, of Alexander, Ark., and Melinda Daniel, of Hot Springs, Ark.; grandchild­ren, Krystle (Kyle) Brown, of Washington, and Ashlee Rodgers-Russell (Seth), of Hot Springs, Ark., Megan Daniel, of Hot Springs, Ark., Katlin Daniel, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., Cameron Rhoden and Spencer Rhoden, both of Alexander, Ark.; two great-grandchild­ren, Titus Loyal McGraw and Ellis Grace Russell; and many nieces and nephews.

Out of respect for social distancing and the current health crisis, at this time we have determined a family-only funeral service would be the most appropriat­e.

Pallbearer­s will be Ben Turner, Jeffrey Eskola, John Brown, Seth Russell, Spencer Rhoden and Clint Rhoden.

Honorary pallbearer­s are Pebbles and the nurses and staff of the 4th Floor at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Ronnie and Lindsay Daniel, Austin Eskola, Wayne McGinnis, Mark McGinnis and Cindie McGinnis-Miller.
