A local woman was arrested Thursday night after allegedly attacking her roommate and then threatening to kill her with a knife during an argument at their residence.

April Marie Williams, 27, of 123 Stanage Terrace, was taken into custody at her residence shortly after 8 p.m. and charged with a felony count of first-degree terroristic threatening, punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor count of third-degree battery, punishable by up to one year in jail.

Williams was being held on a $3,500 bond and was set to appear Friday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly after

7:30 p.m., Garland County sheriff’s Deputy Michael Wag

ner responded to the Stanage Terrace residence regarding a disorderly person and upon arrival made contact with the victim, 57, who was standing outside on the lawn with a bloody nose.

She stated she and her roommate, identified as Williams, had been arguing because there were drugs inside the house and Williams punched her in the face four to five times and then bit her on the thumb as she tried to push her away.

After the fight stopped, she said she walked outside to get away from Williams, but Williams came out after her with a kitchen knife in her hand and told her she was “going to kill her if she didn’t leave.”

Wagner noted the victim had injuries consistent with her statement and a witness who was outside at the time of the incident reportedly corroborated her story. He said he saw Williams come out with a knife and threaten to kill the victim.

The deputy then spoke to Williams who said the victim had come inside the residence asking where her phone was and that she got “really close to her.” She said she struck her in the face in self-defense and they began to fight.

After the victim walked outside, Williams said she grabbed a kitchen knife and went outside and told her to leave.

Williams was previously arrested in Benton County on April 2, 2016, on felony charges of second-degree battery and aggravated assault. She later pleaded guilty on Dec. 1, 2016, and was sentenced to six years’ probation. A petition to revoke her probation was later filed and a warrant for her arrest was issued on April 2, 2020.
