Lady Wolves top Lady Raiders over weekend

PEARCY — Lake Hamilton’s varsity girls got off to a strong start Saturday against Nettleton and cruised to a 52-44 win at Wolf Arena.

The Lady Wolves (4-1) jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the opening quarter, but the Lady Raiders (5-2) found their footing to pull within 24-22 by the break. Lake Hamilton stretched its lead out by 1 in the third before outscoring Nettleton 12-7 to secure the win.

Tia Mullenix and Aspen Thornton led the Lady Wolves offense with 14 points, Mullenix pulling down eight rebounds, including five offensive boards. Ginny Higginboth­am had 12 points, and Audri Winfrey had 8 points and six rebounds. The Lady Wolves were 13 of 14 from the free throw line and hit a perfect 6-for-6 in the final eight minutes.

Lake Hamilton will travel to North Little Rock on Friday.

Lakeside seventh-grade boys take wins over Arkadelphi­a, Benton

Lakeside’s seventh-grade boys took a pair of wins over Arkadelphi­a Saturday and Benton Monday.

The seventh-grade Rams (5-0) took a 54-15 win over Arkadelphi­a Saturday.

Beau Brock led the team with 24 points, Caleb Rogers and Tucker Young added 6 each, Daejuan Ellis and Ja’Various Russell had 5 each, Victor Altamirano put up 4, and Doke Douglas and Jerimyah Evans rounded out the scoring with

2 each.

Lakeside took a 40-24 win over Benton Monday. Brock led the team with 13 points, and Rogers added 11. The team will travel to Bethel Saturday.

Siloam Springs, Lakeside split in bowling tri-match

Siloam Springs’s boys took a decisive win in its match against Lake Hamilton and Lakeside at Central Bowling Lanes with the Lady Rams topping the Lady Wolves in the girls match.

Siloam Springs finished with 2,399 pins for the win with Lake Hamilton knocking down 2,215 and Lakeside tallying 2,058.

Keegan Ireland led Lake Hamilton with a series of 423 (212, 211). Ethan Nash (212, 183), Daley Young (213, 153), Seth Chersnick (173, 127), Kody Weisel (115, 125) and Landon Solsby (93) and Ethan Morris (95) rounded out the scoring.

Lakeside’s senior-laden team was led by senior Cael Braughton’s series of 378 (167, 211). Seniors David Hicks (157, 170), Chase Vicentic (167,

123), Matt Williams (137, 152), Tanner Roberts

(108, 130), Tanner Ward (98) and Alex Browning

(119) finished out the team’s scoring. Lakeside knocked down 1,796 pins for the win while Lake Hamilton had just 1,600.

Senior Lilly Crabtree led both teams with a

319 series (170, 149). Seniors Haley Fauber (150,

158), Abby Shelby (146, 113) and EC Arnold (128,

95) and sophomores Angela Villatoro (128, 103), Delaney Hill ( 105) and Peazure Dobbs ( 105) rounded out the scoring.

Bre Nash led Lake Hamilton with games of

127 and 147 for a 274 series. Ally Ross (153, 117), Catriona Morcan (139, 88), Kensie Orrell (116,

123), Kennedy Roberts (117), Julianna Treece

(106), Makiah Sena (104) and Madison Cole (67) also scored for the Lady Wolves.
