Doin’ Time For Kids

-

Dear editor:

On Wednesday, Feb. 17, the members of Zeta Chi, a chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, sponsored Doin’ Time For Kids, a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital located in Memphis.

A very heartfelt thank you goes out to all the “Jailbirds” who worked so hard to meet their bail. We also want to thank Orr Cadillac and Judy Langeder for allowing Zeta Chi the opportunity to use their showroom for this fundraiser, however, because of COVID-19 and the terrible snowstorm we were unable to be at their facility this year.

We appreciate the following Jailbirds: John Holt, Kathy Reed, Brenda Richardson and Bill Wood, who are not members of Zeta Chi, for supporting us in raising their “bail money.” In addition, Zeta Chi Member Jailbirds included Karen Akins, Regenia Bettis, Coni Hall, Roberta Hatcher, Anne Head, Peggy Holt, Ann Martin, Sherry Miller, Kathy Nichols, Jerri Roper, Glendalyn Spicer, Sharon Turrentine, Betty Wood, Ginger Yates and Shelby Church.

This past year has been very difficult for so many of us! Despite the challenges, and due to your compassion and generosity, Zeta Chi was able to raise $21,472 for continuing research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

We are excited about the success of this wonderful worthwhile project and want to thank the community and all of those who gave donations to this cause. We will see you again next year! Shelby Church, chair
