Jimeson’s plans for this week: “We will look to focus 10-3 on our pitching and defense in hopes to help keep the Badgers off the bases this week.”

Hot Springs (5-6, 1-6 5A South)

Key opponent this week: “All of them are conference except Cutter, so they really all are,” said Hot Springs head coach Deana Franklin.

Franklin’s plans for this week: “We have four games next week. Pine Bluff from rain out Friday. They beat us by 1, so we’re looking to win that one. Arkansas High against Tuesday — looking for another win. Cutter Thrusday — haven’t played them yet. El Dorado Friday — played with them several innings at their place. Looking to do better at home.”

Lake Hamilton (4-7, 3-3 5A South)

Outstandin­g Athlete of the Week: Erika Bittinger. “She’s a senior, starting pitcher and leadoff batter. Last week her batting average was .833 with four RBI’s. She was 2-0 as starting pitcher. She is our glue that holds us together,” said Lakeside head coach Josh Bradley

Key opponent this week: “Hard to answer. We have two big games against cross town rival Lake Hamilton who we beat earlier this year, 5-3, and we play White Hall who beat us 3-2. Both have big state tournament implicatio­ns for us. We could be the No. 2 seed at the end of the week or the No. 4 seed.”

Bradley’s plans for the week: “Our focus for the upcoming week is going to be to continue to have an attack mentality at the plate and limit our mistakes in the field.”
