Petco Love donates $10,000 to HSV Animal Welfare League

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The newly named Petco Love has awarded a $10,000 grant to the Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League to support its lifesaving work for animals in Hot Springs Village and surrounding areas, the league recently announced in a news release.

“Petco Love is a nonprofit leading change for pets nationally by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier.

Since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they’ve empowered organizations with nearly $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And, they’ve helped find loving homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations, like ours, nationwide,” the release said.

“Today Petco Love announces an investment in HSV Animal Welfare League and hundreds of other organizations as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love, said in the release.

“Our local investments are only one component. This month, we will also launch the first of our national tools to empower all animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us,” she said.

“This grant investment will help when Animal Welfare League needs it most. It will support our lifesaving care for pets in need and prepare them for adoption with loving families. We greatly appreciate the generous support from Petco Love throughout the years,” Angela Nickols, chair of the AWL Grant Committee, said in the release.

HSV Animal Welfare League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to no-kill “in order to save all adoptable pets and reduce the unwanted pet population with area spay/neuter programs, serving Hot Springs Village and surrounding areas. Since 1991, the league has saved thousands of pets and sterilized thousands in the area to help prevent overpopulation.”
