Vera E. Scott
Vera Elizabeth Scott, 82, of Buckville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15,
2021. She was born in Buckville, Ark., on July 18, 1938, to Arnold and Savanah (Murders) Pate.
Vera loved supporting her husband faithfully as they preached, visited nursing homes, hospitals and ministered all over Arkansas together. She loved taking care of the kids and grandbabies and had a passion for Bible school and teaching the young children.
Survivors include her loving husband, Jimmy Scott, of
56 years; daughter, Lisa (Brian) Sharp, of Hot Springs; son, Jimmy Dale (Theresa) Scott, of Buckville; grandchildren, Colt (Lauren) Sharp, of Buckville, Cheyenna (Joey) Herd, of Branson, and Rowdy (Jimi Ann) Scott, of Story; great-grandchildren, Caden Herd, Ellie Sharp, Emma Sharp and Poppy Jean Elizabeth Scott; sister, Jewel Stogsdill, of Jessieville; sisterin-law, Jewell Pate, of Jessieville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruby Noles, of Buckville, Ruth Robbins, of Hot Springs, Gladys Noles, of Jessieville; and brothers, Emery Pate, of Buckville and Emerson Pate, of Jessieville.
A Celebration of Vera’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Scott Cemetery in Mountain Pine, Ark.
Pallbearers are Colt Sharp, Rowdy Scott, Joey Herd, Caden Herd, Joe Weston, David Penny, Wayne Hill, David Smith II and Josh Lambert.
