Opal V. Outler, 86, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Aug. 30, 2021. She was born March 17, 1935, in Avant, Ark., to Vanleer and Rena (Meek) Frazier.

Opal was married to Beauford Outler on May 9, 1953. He preceded her in death after they celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage. She was also predecease­d by her second husband, Noel Mcrae. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Beverly (Griffin) Frazier.

Survivors include daughter, Sharon (Tommy) Freeman, of Nevada, Mo.; Carla (Tim) Kemp, of Hot Springs, Ark.; stepchildr­en, David (Rhonda) Mcrae, Deanne (Charles) Almond, Becky Mcrae and Holly Mcrae; two sisters, Connie (Roger) Tolleson and Shelia (Larry) Vincent, both of Hot Springs, Ark.; grandchild­ren, Jason (Kandi) Keith, Erica (Antonio) Reyes and Mitchell (Becca) Outler; great-grandchild­ren, Jared Keith, Paxton Keith, Braley Keith, Jensen Sledd, Angelica Reyes, Amelia Outler, Magnolia Outler and Declan Outler; and many nieces; and nephews.

Opal enjoyed playing the piano for her home church, beginning as a teenager. She crocheted cherished baby blankets for all the newborns, and afghans for family and friends. She was a faithful participan­t in the life of Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church from the time she was a child, serving in many capacities.

She worked in accounting at Rephan’s, Weyerhaeus­er, and retired from AWI Supply. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid photograph­er. She was a quiet and private person who loved her family. She was a very special lady.

Horace Gray, the Rev. Jim Owen and the Rev. Joe Thompson.

Gratitude to Elite Home Health and Elite Hospice staff for the excellent care, especially Lynn Burks, Stephanie Bice, Deanna Bobus and Misty Lewis. Gratitude to Linda Vincent and Laura Irons, who provided care and friendship during the past months.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church Music Fund, or a charity of your choice.
