“Muppets Haunted Mansion” (2021)

The Great Gonzo (Dave Goelz, “The Muppet Show”) is a world-famous daredevil extraordin­aire who has seen and tried it all. But on Friday, Oct. 8, Gonzo’s limits may be tested as he tries to spend one night in the scariest place on earth: the Haunted Mansion. Based on the Haunted Mansion attraction featured at Disney Parks around the globe, this new special features Gonzo and his Muppet pals as they take on their scariest adventure yet. Featuring new songs, celebrity appearance­s and spooky family fun, this is a Halloween special for everyone to enjoy. Keep an eye out for Kermit the Frog (Matt Vogel, “Sesame Street), Pepe the Prawn (Bill Barretta, “Muppets Now”), Miss Piggy and Fozzy Bear (both voiced by Eric Jacobson, “The Muppets,” 2011) as Gonzo goes paranormal. From director and writer Kirk R. Thatcher (“It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie,” 2002) and writer Kelly Younger (“Muppets Now”), the special also features celebrity appearance­s from Danny Trejo (“Machete,” 2010), Darren Criss (“Glee”), Craig Robinson (“Brooklyn Nine-nine”), Chrissy Metz (“This is Us”), Alfonso Ribeiro (“The Fresh Prince of Bel-air”), Skai Jackson (“Jessie”), Pat Sajak (“Wheel of Fortune”) and Justina Machado (“Jane the Virgin”).

“On My Block” - Season 4

The teens return in the fourth and final season release of “On my Block,” airing Monday, Oct. 4, on Netflix. Making their way through high school, four teens in the Los Angeles neighborho­od of Freeridge find their

lifelong relationsh­ip tested as they grow up together. Season 3 ended on a two-year time jump, with Monse (Sierra Capri, “American Skin,” 2019), Cesar (Diego Tinoco, “Teen Wolf”), Ruby (Jason Genao, “Logan,” 2017) and Jamal (Brett Gray, “When They See Us”) finding more comfort in young adulthood. Amid heartwrenc­hing storylines and the forging of new identities, the friends will still do whatever it takes to stay together. This coming-of-age drama comes from creators Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft (both of “All Eyez on Me,” 2017) and Lauren Lungerich (“Awkward.”). Jessica Marie Garcia (“How to Get Away With Murder”) and Julio Macias (“Selena: The Series”) also star in the series.

WHAT’S NEW ON PRIME “Welcome to Blumhouse: Madres” (2021)

Prime’s original horror anthology film series “Welcome to the Blumhouse” returns this Friday, Oct. 8, with “Madres.” Set in the 1970s, “Madres” follows a young Mexicaname­rican couple, Beto (Tenoch Huerta, “Narcos: Mexico”) and Diana (Ariana Guerra, “Helstrom”), who are pregnant with their first child. The couple moves to a small migrant farming community in California, but as Diana’s due date looms closer, she begins experienci­ng strange symptoms accompanie­d by terrifying visions.

Together, Beto and Diana work together to discover if these occurrence­s are the result of a legendary curse or something more sinister. One of the two latest stories in the anthology series, “Madres” is directed by Ryan Zaragoza (“All American”) and written by Mario Miscione (“The Vault”) and Marcella Ochoa (“Discarnate,” 2018). The film’s cast is rounded out by Elpidia Carrillo (“Predator,” 1987), Kerry Cahill (“The Walking Dead”), Jennifer Patino (“Jumanji: The Next Level,” 2019), Britton Webb (“Blood Country,” 2017), Ashleigh Lewis (“Bastard’s Crossing,” 2021), Evelyn Gonzalez (“The Conners”) and René Mena (“Bright,” 2017).

While settling into her new abode — the facility is set in a sprawling and historic manor — it isn’t long before she begins to suspect that something supernatur­al is preying on the residents. As increasing­ly disturbing occurrence­s and deaths begin happening all around her, no one is willing to believe her story, and Judith sees no other option but to escape the manor or fall victim to the evil living in its walls.
