Tickets now on sale for November Glenn Miller Orchestra performance
Tickets are now on sale for next month’s performance of the Glenn Miller Orchestra at Horner Hall in the Hot Springs Convention Center.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra will be the second of three big-band orchestra performances sponsored by Visit Hot Springs this fall at the convention center. The Harry James Orchestra performed Saturday night.

The third performance in the series will be Juke Box Saturday Night on Friday, Dec. 3, according to Visit Hot Springs Marketing Director Bill Solleder.
Doors for the Glenn Miller and Juke Box Saturday Night shows will open at 6 p.m. and the shows will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 per concert for reserved table seating.
“We’ll have the dance floor set up for each of the shows,” Solleder said in a news release, “and we encourage everyone to get up and dance to the sounds of these legendary orchestras.”
The Glenn Miller Orchestra consists of the music director, five saxophone players, four trumpeters, four trombonists, piano, bass and drums. There are two vocalists.
“The orchestra is on the road continuously, traveling almost every night for 48 weeks each year. It covers more than 100,000 miles doing 300 concert dates,” according to a bio provided by Visit Hot Springs.
“Performances include the legendary Glenn Miller hits,” including “Moonlight Serenade,” “Sunrise Serenade,” “St. Louis Blues March,” “Tuxedo Junction,” “Stardust,” “Little Brown Jug,” “A String of Pearls,” “Elmer’s Tune,” and “In the Mood,” it said.
Jukebox Saturday Night is a musical revue of the great big bands from the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s. The performances celebrate America’s Swing Era, including the greatest hits of Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Jimmy Lunceford, Harry James, Artie Shaw, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Bunny Berigan, and Count Basie. Vocal selections will include songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Bob Eberly, Helen O’Connell, Rosemary Clooney, and other vocal idols. It performs various styles of music including swing, ballads, cha-chas, waltzes and tangos, the release said.
