Steven Edwin Henderson, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, passed away unexpected­ly on Oct. 7, 2021.

He was born on Feb. 18, 1964, in Osceola, Ark., the son of Truman Edwin Henderson and Jerry Lynn Henderson

Steve entered the United States Air Force immediatel­y after graduating from Rivercrest High School in northeast Arkansas. He proudly served his country for over 20 years, doing many tours around the world during his service until he retired as master sergeant in 2001. He was a two-time Bronze Star recipient. Steve spent the last 10 years of his military career in Alaska. He often spoke of his time there in the great outdoors, where he loved to hunt and fish.

After his retirement from the Air Force, he continued to work on military bases as a licensed aircraft mechanic. Steve loved the outdoors and he could always be found in the deer woods or on the lake.

He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Barbara Henderson of Hot Springs, Ark.

He is survived by his sons: Hunter Henderson of Arkansas and Jerry Pearson of Texas; his daughters: Gina McClurg (Jerrod) of Texas, Laura England (Josh) of Missouri and Angela Pierce (Ken Cruz) of Texas. He leaves behind seven grandchild­ren: Nikki, Caitlyn, William, Maliyah, Jaxson, Charlotte and Levi. He also leaves behind his father, Truman Henderson (Jan) of Arkansas. His brothers: Mike Henderson of Arkansas and Don Henderson of Arkansas, and one sister, Selena Burt of Arkansas; and many other relatives of Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Jerry Lynn Henderson, and his grandparen­ts.

He was dearly loved and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

A celebratio­n of Steve’s life will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.
