ITEM OF INTEREST HS Toastmasters to meet Saturday

Hot Springs Toastmasters Club 7643 will hold its regular weekly club meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday. Regular access works via Files Road, as the parking lot repaving is done.

Recent awards in the Toastmasters Pathways education program include Steve Hinsley, earning his Level 2 in his Pathway. For more information, visit an upcoming meeting.

Upcoming outreach within the community includes a visit/presentation at one of Oaklawn Rotary Club’s regular meetings after the holidays.

Visitors are welcome at no charge but are asked to contact the club in advance to allow for distancing.

Hybrid access via Zoom is also available. Members who received the initial agenda copy via email on Tuesday received the link.

In-person participants are encouraged to bring or wear a mask; the meeting can move to a larger room, if needed.

“Toastmasters is a supportive, inexpensive way to learn speaking and leadership skills.

“Training resources for speechmaking are part of Toastmasters support available to members.

“Toastmasters International’s materials and programs also offer leadership development.

“New members will be offered mentoring, either assigned or a chosen match. Meeting roles rotate from one week to the next,” a news release said.

There is no charge to attend and see what the club is about. Meetings normally are one hour long.
