Sue S.A. Cunningham

-

Mamie Sue Shackelford Adcock Cunningham went home to be with her Lord and Savior May 11, 2022.

Sue was born on Feb. 2, 1941, in Royal, Ark., to Roy and Mamie Craig Shackelford. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, James Ray Adcock; her brother- and sister-in-law, Dean and Shirleen Adcock; and all her brothers and sisters: James, Hollis, Kenneth and Drew Shackelford, Maxine White, Shirley Dickinson and Joann Shaw.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Don Cunningham; son and daughter-in-law, Darrin and Beth Adcock; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Shane Simanton; grandsons, Kyle and Keith Adcock; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Mary Jo Parker, Tom and Kuniko Cunningham, and De Clark. She is also survived by a great many nieces and nephews that all held their Aunt Susie dear.

She was strong in every circumstance, yet not in her own strength. Instead, Sue depended upon The Lord for wisdom and courage. Her faith was of the utmost importance. And as her faith will be her legacy, she was only a part of the heritage of faith that preceded her and will remain.

Sue was also an avid sports fan. Cheers for her Razorbacks will sound a bit hollow now without her voice, but her love for the Hogs will live on, just as her love for her family will endure, especially for her grandsons, whom she loved with all her heart.

Services will be Monday, May 16, at Caruth-hale Life Celebration Center, 2529 Airport Road, Hot Springs. Visitation will take place at 10 a.m., with the celebration of Sue’s life beginning at 11 a.m., with Brother Bernard Rusert officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Royal, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glory Bound Baptist Church, 2314 Airport Road, Hot Springs, AR 71913.
