Claymond Loetscher
Claymond “Clay” Loetscher, 82, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Aug. 3, 2022. He was born March 23, 1940 in Little Rock to Raymond Paul and Ava Louise Loetscher. He is predeceased by his parents, the mother of his children, Elizabeth Ann Loetscher, and granddaughter, Courtney Darnell.
Clay served in the U.S. Army. He, along with his father and twin brother, Ray, owned and operated Loetscher Bros. Garage in Little Rock. He also had a successful career as a sprintcar driver. Clay with his father and brother, helped establish the Baseline Road Volunteer Fire Department. In his retirement, he owned and operated Ten Mile Creek Thoroughbred Training Center. He not only trained horses for others, he also trained and raced his own thoroughbreds. Clay enjoyed speed; whether it was cars, boats, or horses. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and telling a good story.
Loving survivors include his wife of 17 years, Connie Meredith Loetscher; grandson, Chase Chiarizzio; daughter, Denise Chiarizzio, of Malvern; daughter, Cindy (Cliff) Darnell, of Fountain Lake; twin brother, Ray (Judy) Loetscher, of Little Rock; granddaughter, Carlee (Andrew) Knuckles, of Atlanta and his niece, Pam (Jim) Huspen, of Chicago. Clay’s bonus family included son, Toby Meredith, of Hot Springs; son, Brady (Tricia) Meredith, of Springdale; daughter, Kerri (Darby) Stiles, of Jessieville; grandchildren, Dillon (Dr. Heidi) Meredith, Dr. Gavin (Tyler) Langley, Braden Meredith, Camdyn Meredith, Teagan Meredith, and Sydney Meredith, great-grandson, Rhett Tyler Langley, and his faithful companion, Lulu, his dog.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until noon, Tuesday, Aug., 9, 2022 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. A 1 p.m. burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Alexander.
Pallbearers are Justin Stockton, Scott Chiarizzio, Keith Thompson, Darby Stiles, Chase Chiarizzio, and Toby Meredith. Honorary pallbearers are the Staff of UAMS, Larry Middleton, Jane Jolly, Bill Crow, AR Hospice, and special nurses, Andrea and Amy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
