Ralph David Ralstin, age 84, of Hot Springs, peacefully passed away July 23, 2022, at Quapaw Care and Rehabilita­tion Center in Hot Springs.

He was born Aug. 7, 1937, to the late Hiram and Maxine (Mcelroy) Ralstin in Guymon, Okla. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Rex Corbett Ralstin; and sister, Joyce Ann (Ralstin) Lile.

Ralph graduated from Guymon High School in 1955, then graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. Ralph enjoyed a lifelong love of horses, as evidenced by his 50-year career in the horse racing industry. His numerous positions included being an owner and trainer for over 35 years, an identifier and patrol judge at both Oaklawn Park and Louisiana Downs.

Additional­ly, he was the owner/manager of the Coral Reef Restaurant and the Longshot Bar & Grill in Hots Springs, Ark.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 32 years, Peggy Graves Ralstin, of Hot Springs; children, Kent David Ralstin, of Georgetown, Ky., Gregory James Ralstin and wife Joretta Cordero Ralstin, of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Troy Allen Ralstin, of Kalamath, Calif., Rhonda Lou (Ralstin) Parker, of Grand Prairie, Texas; nine grandchild­ren: Anthony, Kalee, Samantha, Corbett, Isabella, Abigail, Tallon, Keegan, Kelcie; two great-great-grandchild­ren, Theodora and Lyza.

Ralph will be missed immensely by his family and friends, particular­ly his entertaini­ng horse stories, his sarcastic wit and sharp sense of style … especially his wonderful cowboy hats!

Memorial graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at Hooker Cemetery, in Hooker, Okla.
