Louise Childers

MALVERN — Louise “Green” Childers, 73 years old of Malvern, Ark., passed from this world and entered heaven, surrounded by the love of her family on Sept. 11, 2022.

Louise was born Aug. 17, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, to William Everet Green and Nellie Fernandez, and her stepfather, Manual A. Fernandez.

Louise was a faithful servant to the Lord. She enjoyed listening to sermons and being active in her church. She would be heard singing her gospel music throughout the day.

Louise loved to be outside. She loved to garden and make her yard look beautiful. She was always busy working on her quilts and her sewing projects. Her love for her grandchildren was immense and she never passed up the opportunity to spend time with them.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Childers; grandson, Ty Young; her brother, Manual Fernandez; her sister, Sandy Green; her aunt, Donna; her mother, Nellie Fernandez; her father, William Everet Green; and stepfather, Manual Fernandez.

Louise leaves behind her daughters, Carol Childers (Billy), Melissa Treat, Kelly Loe (Bismarck), Courtney Gibson (Kyle); sister, Rose Garcia (Luis); brother, Dennis Fernandez; sister-in-law, Michelle Fernandez; grandchildren, Damon Young, Bo Young, Angel Young, Mercedes Osborn (Mel), baby Henry, Cail Gibson, Danielle Gibson, Collin Gibson, Sley Young, Tegan Dury, and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Celebration of her life services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Hot Springs Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Wendell Darnell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Bo Young, Marcus Fernandez, Manny Fernandez, Lonnie Garcia, Craig Tarvar and Luis Garcia.

Burial will be in Price Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hot Springs Funeral Home.
