Julieanna Bates Gonzalez was born on March 24, 1965, to the late Jack Bates and the late Helen Keith Bates.

Julieanna was a devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of New Hope Church in Glenwood, Ark., and a breast cancer survivor. She was a substitute teacher at Caddo Hill School District. She always sought ways to help the underdog. She loved spending time with her family, especially if it was on the ball fields. Julie was known for her spitfire personalit­y and always made the room brighter when she walked in. Julie was immensely proud of her four children and leaves behind nothing but fun and loving the memories.

Julie is survived by her husband, Andres, and four children: Andrew Payne of Fort Pierce, Fla., Seth (Kylie) Payne of Hot Springs, Caitlin Payne of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Kamilah Gonzalez of Glenwood; four grandchild­ren: Zach, Trystan and Lilli Redifer of Hot Springs and Christian Fontus of Port St. Lucie, Fla. She is also survived by her mother, Dianne Bates; and two siblings: Jack (Rayanne) Bates of Fayettevil­le, Ark., and Deidre (James) Turner of Hot Springs; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at Caruthhale Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of Julieanna’s life will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at First Pentecosta­l Church.

Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s include Seth Payne, Andrew Payne, James Turner, Zach Redifer, Josh Gonzalez, Frank Gonzalez and Nick Spainhour.
