James “Jim” David White, age 75, of Hot Springs, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023.

He was born on Jan. 13, 1948, in Houston, Texas, the son of Levi “Lee” White and Mary Evelyn Shankles White. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim was a United States Air Force veteran. After serving his country, he worked for Reynolds Aluminum for 20 years. He then went on to work for the Hot Springs National Park Service as a water maintenanc­e engineer, from which he retired. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His favorite pastime was running his Fox Hounds and listening to them howl. Jim was also known to have a knack for matchmakin­g. Jim was a member of First Christian Disciples of Christ, where he served as a deacon for a few years. He loved being surrounded by all of his family and friends and watching his grandkids play sports and growing up enjoying the outdoors. Jim truly enjoyed life and was going to have a good time no matter what he did.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Billie Kaye Sexton White; his two children and their spouses, Jaime Jester (Shane Feemster) and David White (Melissa White); his grandchild­ren; Alexanderi­a White, Remy Bilodeau (Karlee Strickland), Daelynn White (Taylor Gillham), William Wade, Nicholas White, Eysa Chapman and Avery Wade.

Pallbearer­s are his grandchild­ren and his cousin, Brantley Bell.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be the WW Hunting Club, his Fox Hunting community and his fishing buddies.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Sellers Street AA, 411 Sellers St., Hot Springs, AR 71901, or favorite charity of choice.

Funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home chapel, Hot Springs. Family requests casual attire.

Interment in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, prior to the service.
