Quad State Bass Club to host tournament on Lake Hamilton

-

Quad State Bass Club will host its 30th anniversary family-friendly Fall Tournament on Lake Hamilton Oct. 21-23.

The event will feature more than 70 teams of bass-fishing enthusiasts from Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Quad State Sponsorship Co-Chairman Bobby Wilson estimated the event will bring around 200 people to Hot Springs, including anglers, family members and guests.

“Quad State Bass Club, as an organization, encourages its members to bring their families and friends to every Quad Tournament,” Wilson said in a release. “Bottom line: We are a family-oriented organization. We are looking forward to the Hot Springs Hospitality.”

Quad State Bass Club’s events are all catch-and-release, aligning with the club’s conservation mission. The club’s motto is, “Take Care of Our Lakes and Lands — They Don’t Belong to Us, We’re Merely Borrowing Them From Our Kids.”

“Hot Springs is already known internationally as a welcoming host city for fishing tournaments and their fans,” Visit Hot Springs CEO Steve Arrison said, “and we are especially eager to show the diverse members of the Quad State Club what great hospitality is all about.”

The tournament will launch out of the Andrew H. Hulsey State Fish Hatchery ramp.

The Quad State Bass Club was founded in 1993 by Thomas Campbell Sr. The original four states in the club included Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Missouri joined years later.

The club also sponsors an outdoor education program, Get Hooked on Fishing — Not on Drugs. The program features youth fishing derbies in the club’s member states.

“We are really looking forward,” Arrison said, “to hosting the Quad State Bass Club and its family members on Lake Hamilton this fall.”
