JESSIEVILLE — A Jessieville man who allegedly attacked his former girlfriend and a neighbor last month and threatened to “slice” the neighbor’s throat and burn his house down was arrested on multiple warrants Tuesday.

Kevin Andrew Blake, 28, of 216 Kevin Road in Jessieville, was taken into custody shortly before 1:30 p.m. and charged with a felony count of first-degree terroristic threatening, punishable by up to six years, and misdemeanor counts of third-degree domestic battery and two counts of third-degree battery, each punishable by up to one year in jail.

Blake, who also had warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply, was initially held on a $8,000 bond. He appeared Wednesday in Garland County District Court and pleaded not guilty to all the charges, with a review hearing set for April 7, and his bond was amended to $3,500. A court order was issued barring him from future contact with his girlfriend or the neighbor. He remained in custody as of Thursday afternoon.

According to court records, Blake pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, meth, on Aug. 31, 2015, and was sentenced to three years’ supervised probation. He pleaded guilty again on Nov. 21, 2022, to a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated, drugs, and was sentenced to one year of probation. He was arrested on Jan. 13 for criminal trespass and then reportedly failed to appear for his arraignment on Feb. 21 so a warrant was issued.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Jan. 7, shortly before 2:30 p.m., the Garland County Sher

iff’s Office received a 911 call about a disturbance in progress in the 200 block of Kevin Road in Jessieville.

Deputies reportedly saw a white male, later identified as Blake, running from the area and into the woods nearby and they were unable to locate him at that time.

Witnesses stated that Blake had been in front of his residence at 216 Kevin and had his girlfriend at the time on the ground and was “repeatedly striking her.” She was able to get away and run to a neighboring house for help.

The male resident there told her to get inside his house and he positioned himself between her and Blake. At that point. Blake allegedly picked up what was described as a “rotten twoby-four” and struck the male resident in the side.

Blake then returned to his property and was reportedly seen coming out of his house with “what appeared to be a long firearm.” Moments later, a single shot was heard coming from the area where Blake had been standing.

Blake allegedly began to “yell obscenities” and demanded the male resident tell him where “his woman” was while throwing rocks at the man’s house. He then moved to the man’s front yard holding a large knife and allegedly made threats to “slice” the man’s throat and “burn his house down.”

At the scene, deputies recovered a large knife near the area where he had fled from. They also noted and photographed injuries to the girlfriend and the neighbor, including bruising and red marks.

The affidavit notes multiple witnesses were interviewed and “all the accounts were consistent with each other” and what the deputies had observed at the scene.

Video was also obtained that reportedly showed Blake “yelling at, threatening, and throwing rocks” at the neighbor and his residence.

After further investigation, the terroristic threatening and battery warrants were later issued.
