Village Chorale introduces new members
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Village Chorale recently announced a full roster for its spring season with the addition of six new singers and one returning member.
Steve Reed joined his first choir as a college freshman “with no idea he could sing. He quickly realized music could touch the hearts and stir emotions. New to the Village by way of Iowa and Phoenix his love of singing brings him to the Chorale,” a news release said.
Ron Felger moved to Hot Springs Village in 2006. His singing experience includes barbershop quartets and various choruses. He has sung with HSV Barbershop Chorus, Cedar Mountain Singers and Christ of The Hills choir.
Jean Jordan, alto, is returning to The Chorale after a four-year break. “We are happy to have her singing with us again,” the release said.
Noreen Mode moved to Hot Springs Village about two years ago. She started singing in a church choir in third grade. For several years, she sang in the a cappella choir led by Frank Pooler at CSU Long Beach and in various church choirs. “Noreen is very excited and privileged to sing for this accomplished choir,” the release said.
Annie Behan began singing while in church and school choirs. She began with voice lessons in high school and sang the “Messiah” with the Denver Civic Choir. After moving to Hot Springs Village
in 2003, she sang for a few seasons with the Cedar Mountain Singers. “Annie feels fortunate to have been selected to join the Village Chorale,” it said.
Bill Lamoureux moved to Hot Springs Village in 2011. His singing experience started with Troupers Light Opera Company in Connecticut. “Bill is an actor, producer, director and past president of HSV Players. He also sings at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and with Voices Rising. Bill is pleased to join the talented director and singers of the Village Chorale,” the release said.
The Chorale is currently rehearsing for its Spring Concert, “Metamorphosis: Awake Our Souls to Sing Once
More,” which will be at 7:30 p.m. April 25 at Woodlands Auditorium. Other spring
appearances include 3 p.m. March 12 at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church
and 3 p.m. May 14 at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort’s Event Center.
