Christopher L. Bailey

-

At 58 years old, Christopher L. Bailey lost his courageous battle with cancer on March 12, 2023. Chris was born January 8, 1965, in Hot Springs, Ark. He was the sixth of six children to the late Harley and Thelma Jean (Hughes) Bailey. Chris was a strong-willed individual who fought with true bravery and strength against his disease. He loved and adored his family dearly.

Football was a major interest for Chris, as he was a faithful fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chris loved to play pool, play basketball, go fishing, ride bicycles and hike outdoors. He was tough as nails, a good cook, and a hard worker. Chris was a wonderful brother to five siblings and great friend to many.

Preceded in death are his parents, Harley and Thelma Jean (Hughes) Bailey; wife of 29 years, Debra (Jones) Bailey; brother, Daniel Bailey; and nephew, Brandon Bailey.

Chris leaves behind to cherish his memory: Daughter, Nekoel (Matthew) Clos; son, Josef (Megan) Bailey; lovely grandchildren, Matthias Clos, Titan Clos, Laiklin Bailey, Xzavier Clos, and Nova Bailey; sisters, Carolyn (Gary) Hannah, Floy Bailey-Montgomery, Kay (Ted) Palmer; and his sidekick, Penny Hibbs. We must not forget that Chris will also be admired by many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends not mentioned here.

There will be, to be announced later, a memorial service to celebrate the memories in the extraordinary life of Chris Bailey.

Special thanks to Floy, Carolyn, Kay, Penny, Josef, Megan, Nekoel, Matthew, and the staff of C.H.I. St. Vincent; all of whom considerably helped along his journey. You will be missed “kingasawbi” (little brother).

Arrangements are by Hot Springs Funeral Home.
