Five ways to support your library

-

The Garland County Library has something for everyone in Garland County. Learn five quick ways to show how you support your library:

• Get a library card — Either in-person or online, any resident of Garland or Saline County, ages 3 and older, can get a library card. It’s one of the best and easiest ways to support our library.

• Services — Use them! A library is more than just books. We offer delivery services, public meeting spaces, a community garden, public computers, fishing poles, telescopes, and so much more. Using these services is the best way to let us know they should continue or expand!

• Participate in programs — Our library is proud to offer year-round programs for the community. From the annual Summer Reading Program to the Winter Watching Program and everything in between. Whether it’s for kids, teens, or adults we have you covered. By signing up for a book club, attending a drop-in activity, watching a livestream, or so many other options, you let us know which programs need to continue and grow!

• Become a Friend of the Library — The Friends of the Garland County Library is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase library services by selling books, magazines, and other materials that have been graciously donated by our patrons. The proceeds go to help fund library programs, program materials, or prizes for participants. You can even become a member for only $5 a year! Located at the back right corner of the library, be sure to visit and perhaps pick up your next book the next time you’re at the library. Also, be on the lookout for their Annual Sale coming up this September.

• Follow and interact on social media — Following the library on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok, and Youtube are great and easy ways to connect and support the library. Watch our videos on Facebook, Youtube, or Twitter. See pictures posted on Facebook and Instagram. We even have a Tiktok! Remember to tap those like buttons, share your favorite posts, or tag your friends — they’re all wonderful ways to show your support!
