- FROM STAFF REPORTS

Actor Seth Gilliam, known for his role as Father Gabriel Stokes in the “Walking Dead” TV series, will appear at the eighth Spa-Con Infinity, Hot Springs’ annual comic and pop culture convention, Sept. 20-22.

This year’s convention, “which turns the figure 8 on its side to create the symbol for infinity in its branding,” will be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center, Visit Hot Springs said in a news release on Sunday.

VIP and weekend early-bird passes for this year’s Spa-Con are now on sale, with the VIP passes going for $125 and the weekend passes selling for $25. “I’m personally over the moon with the Spa-Con pass package items and T-shirt designs this year,” Visit Hot Springs Special Projects Manager Alexis Hampo said in the release. “The new artwork and branding for this year’s Infinity edition are really sending Spa-Con over the top when it comes to fresh and exciting designs. The Arkansas artist Gustav Carlson did a fantastic job on our alien artwork.”

“Spa-Con Infinity is so excited to announce the first guest, Seth Gilliam,” Hampo said. “I really think he will bring in a multi-genre crowd, which is what Spa-Con always hopes to do. He’ll appeal to ‘The Wire’ and ‘Teen Wolf’ crowd as well as to the ‘Starship Troopers’ and ‘The Walking Dead’ crowd.”

Gilliam also has had roles on “The Cosby Show,” “Law & Order,” “CSI Miami,” “The Good Wife,” “Homeland,” “Nurse Jackie,” “Criminal Minds” and “Elementary.”
