Taco Mama is a favorite among locals who enjoy its authentic Mexican flavors.
I ordered the fish tacos with corn tortillas, cilantro lime rice and black beans. I have heard that Taco Mama has a spicy salsa and I had to get a ramekin of that before hitting the road.
The inside of Taco Mama was nice and well lighted. I am a big fan of themes so looking around while I waited was a good way to occupy my time. I did not have to wait long; however, I had to walk across the restaurant to the bar area to wait instead of a designated to-go pickup area for takeout customers. The wait was short and the outthe-door price of $14.63 was not bad for the large plate I received.
Taco Mama offers a two-sided restaurant dining experience — one side a bar with TVs for sports and a versatile drink menu and the other side offering a more family-friendly dining experience, which is quieter and more wholesome.
The meal was in great portions, the two tacos’ authentic corn tortillas were loaded with ingredients capped off with a delicious cream sauce and sliced avocado on the top. The cilantro rice was good and did not have an overpowering flavor, as a lot of cilantro does. The only knock to the box was the black beans were scattered and seemed to be missing something, like melted cheese over the top of them. The spicy salsa did not disappoint, hot and full of flavors.
The fish tacos earned a four-star rating from me based on the multiple flavors at play.
