MELANIE C.C. WILSON

-

Melanie Carroll Crawford Wilson, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on March 26, 2024.

She was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Gabe Crawford and Melanie Boone Crawford. Melanie grew up in Little Rock, Ark., and graduated from Mount St. Mary Academy in 1955. In 1956, she met and married the love of her life, Conrad Wilson. The first of eight babies was born a year later. Melanie insisted on a Catholic education for her children and they each attended St. John’s Catholic School. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Hot Springs for 66 years and worked tirelessly donating her time and energy toward various school and parish projects. She was a member and current president of a parish women’s group, the Morning Circle, where she coordinated various services to the church and other community organizations. She was a volunteer at CHI St. Vincent hospital for more than 18 years. She was a true servant of God.

Melanie was loved by so many, always had time to listen and was always thinking of others. Many appreciated her motherly advice and wisdom. She enjoyed having a full house and the sounds of all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren delighted her more than anything else. Her home was filled with faith, family, friends and music.

Melanie was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Ada Boone; husband, Conrad Wilson; daughter, Susan Wilson; granddaughters, Susan Stough and Mallory Mika; and great-grandson, Ben Fields.

She is survived by her children, Jan Whisenhunt (Jim), Mel Mika (Mike), Lyn Harrison (Barrett), Gay King (Derek), Kay Roberts (Bob), Kim Dudley (David), Ray Wilson (Vicki); her cousin, Mary Kelley; her 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to Dr. Robert Muldoon and the entire team at Genesis Cancer and Blood Institute, Arkansas Hospice Hot Springs, and all of her special friends from St. John’s Catholic Church.
