HAZEL D. CRISS
Hazel Delilia “Dee” Criss, 86, of Hot Springs, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 12, 2024.
She was born April 8, 1938, to the late Dewey Washington and Ruby Blanche Adcock in Bismarck, Ark.
Dee was a retired restaurateur operating Tommy’s Coffee Shop and Steak House in California, Anthony Motel Restaurant, Quality Inn Restaurant, Tommy’s Café in the Fountain Motel, Hill Wheatley Inn Restaurant, and Red Carpet Inn Restaurant. In later years, she served in customer service with Walmart. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Paul Criss; parents; and one granddaughter, Sara Gonzales.
Dee loved the Lord, her family, serving others and connecting with others through conversation.
Survivors include her children, one daughter, Sherry Gonzales, two sons, Gary (Nancy) Criss and Paul (Susanne) Criss; one brother, Hershel Adcock; five grandchildren, Cristy (Branndon) Karr, Travis Criss, Sophia Criss, Thomas Criss, and Mary (Victor) Cortez; six great-grandchildren, Joselynn Criss, Zeppelin Criss, Victoria Cortez, Vincent Cortez, Steven Cortez, and Selena Cortez; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, with services to follow at 1 p.m., at Hot Springs Funeral Home.

LORETTA L. LOYD
ROYAL — We are saddened to announce the death of Loretta Lynn Loyd, age 53, of Royal, who passed away on April 4, 2024.
Loretta is survived by her husband of 36 years, Robert; her mother, Darlene; her sons, Alex and Brad and their families.
She is preceded in death by her father, David.
Loretta was a beautiful soul who spread joy and happiness wherever she went.
Service will be held at Gross Funeral Home at noon on April 24, 2024.

BRET E. WILLINGHAM
Bret Everett Willingham, age 56, passed away April 8, 2024, and began his walk with the Lord.
He was born May 22, 1967, in Hot Springs, Ark.
Bret is predeceased by his grandparents, George and Ara Mae Willingham, Collin McKinney, Grace Hartman; and sister, Shanna Willingham Alexander.
Survivors include daughter, Shelby Willingham (Dakkota Hayes), Royal Ark.; son, Charlie Willingham (Lillian), Honolulu, Hawaii; parents, Charles and Joy Willingham, Bonnerdale Ark.; three stepdaughters, Savannah Files, Ashley Anderson and Amanda League; the love of his life, Donna Hubbard, Hot Springs; nephews, Zak Alexander (Gabby), Oklahoma, Drew Alexander (Jen), Pennsylvania; cousin and best friend, Darrell Diggs (Gloria), Glenwood Ark.; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins.
Bret graduated from Lake Hamilton School in 1985, where he was a member of the Lake Hamilton FFA chapter and a member of the mechanics team. He worked for Hugg and Hall equipment as a mobile master mechanic. He loved being in his shop, going to the pond to fish, and out for a good ride in the side-by-side.
A celebration of Bret’s life will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 15, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, with Chaplain Mike Poye officiating.

PHYLLIS A. FERGUSON
Phyllis Ann Ferguson, 76, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away April 9, 2024. She was of Baptist faith.
She was born April 24, 1947, in Mountain Pine, Ark., to Richard and Eula (McDaniel) Woolard.
