Best Friends Animal Society crown “Senior Prom” king/queen

Adoptable dogs & cats compete to kick off month-long adoption promotion

-

LOS ANGELES – With one eye and four legs, Brian Griffin isn’t your typical Prom King, but then you’ve never seen a prom like the one Best Friends Animal Society - Los Angeles is hosting.

The Senior Prom will kick off Best Friends’ “Aged to Perfection” adoption promo, with $0 adoption fees on all pets seven years and older until the end of May. All pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

“We wanted to find a fun way to invite adopters to ask a senior pet for that ‘next dance’” said Dana Collins, communications manager, Best Friends Animal Society – Los Angeles. “Senior dogs and cats have a lot to offer. Most are mellow, have great manners, and make for awesome lifelong companions.”

Brian, the eight-yearold puggle, is stiff competition for the four other dogs contending for the coveted title of Prom King. Competitors include handsome lab mix Mr. Charlie, fluffy terrier Mulberry, dashing Aussie Shepherd mix Scooter, and crowd favorite Winston, a partially sighted Chihuahua mix.

Prom Queen hopefuls include five fabulous felines “of a certain age:” petite and playful Mamacita, cute Calico mix Rosie, beguiling black and white Calisto, gorgeous gray Emily, and terrific Tortoiseshell Tabitha.

Voting on the Best Friends Los Angeles Facebook page will begin on Friday, April 22, with the winners crowned at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at the Best Friends Pet Adoption & Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills and via Facebook Live.

The Senior Prom will take place at both the Best Friends Pet Adoption & Spay/ Neuter Center in Mission Hills and the NKLA Pet Adoption Center is West LA from 2 to 4 p.m. and feature:

● Timeless prom tunes

● Floral arrangements by The Hidden Garden Floral Design

● Opportunity to enter to win a romantic dinner and a two-night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills valued at more than $1,500. (Limit one entry per person. Prize winner will be drawn and notified on Monday morning).
