Iam so thrilled to hear from you, Santa Clarita. We have been getting numerous testimonials on how our published stories and calendar events have helped out in some way. The most recent was a phone call I received from a very nice lady who was so very pleased we placed her event on our master calendar. She not only received phone calls regarding her event but was very surprised at the outcome and the number of people that showed up. All because they saw it in The Signal.
Another phone call came from someone who was so touched by a story I published (which was submitted by a Santa Clarita resident) that she reached out and wanted to speak to the author because her late husband was connected to the event the author wrote about.
This week, we have a story of someone who desperately wants help in recovering a letter that was included in a time capsule back in 1972. Forty-four years later, the time capsule remains unopened and practically forgotten. Very few remember the event or even care about it.
That’s what a community newspaper is all about. We may not know each other personally, but we can connect through the pages of the newspaper.
I love reading your stories, and I know many of you love reading them too – stories about your pasts, your children, your hobbies, etc. Send them to us. You never know who will be reading and suddenly say, “Wow, I remember that,” or “Yes, just like me.”
Send in your stories, 500-700 words or less, and do include photos. We love photos!
