Local Dining
My family and I definitely have our favorite restaurants around town, and then our notso-favorites. Friday night my family and I dined at a local restaurant. To be honest, we had not been there in a long time but that night we decided to try it again, because we wanted to stay local.
Although the décor is great, the food just didn’t do it for us. There were four of us. Two liked the food and the other two didn’t. But that wasn’t the worst part. Sometimes servers can make or break the dining experience. It was obvious our server did not feel like working that day.
Serving can be tough; I know because my son was a server at a local restaurant for several years, and I know how hard he worked. Serving should start with a smile and a great attitude. Neither of these did she have. Everyone can have a bad day and so we cut her some slack. But we won’t be back anytime soon, if ever.
So next time, we will stick with the places that we truly love, and we have many favorite places here in Santa Clarita; where the food, the atmosphere, and the service is always top notch.
Here’s a hint: you can get the best grill chop with apple chutney in town at one of our favorite places, a mouthwatering spicy tuna on crispy rice at another, and the yummiest Pasta Primavera or Angel Hair Pomodoro at yet another spot.
If these places ever close their doors, I’ll have to move out of Santa Clarita.
