Knights stay on a roll with sweep
Trinity remains in first-place of league
The Trinity Classical Academy Knights continued their domination of the Lancaster Baptist Eagles on Monday at the Henry Mayo Fitness and Health Center in Valencia, sweeping the Eagles 3-0.
The Knights, who defeated Lancaster Baptist 3-1 on September 27, have not dropped a match against their Heritage League foes since 2012.
The game scores Monday were: 2514, 25-7, and 25-8.
Jessica Eblin, who is Trinity’s first girl’s volleyball player to commit to an NCAA Division 1 school (Siena
College in New York), led the team with 16 assists, seven digs and 10 aces, five of which came in a 25-14 game one victory that set the tone for the match.
“Our game plan was to play with a lot of energy and execute on our side of the net,” said Knights coach Rebecca Peluffo. “I think we did a great job of executing that.”
Trinity (9-10-1 overall, 4-1 in Heritage League) easily took games two and three with scores of 25-7 and 258, respectively, and were led in kills by Hannah Caddow (eight), and in blocks by Eblin and Emily Buchanan (two).
The win keeps the Knights’ in a first-place tie with Santa Clarita Christian in the Heritage League.
Trinity’s 3-2 victory over the Cardinals on October 11 was the first win for the Knights in the history of the matchup.
The schools are set to meet again Thursday at the Henry Mayo Fitness and Health Center.
“We always talk about how our team is a family,” Eblin said. “To be in the lead for Heritage League is an extra bonus, but for us, it’s always been about keeping those relationships sound.”
Trinity travels to the Guidance Charter School in Palmdale on Tuesday to face the Gators.
