Knight to hold town hall meeting
After holding Town Hall meetings in the 25th Congressional District in Palmdale and Simi Valley, Rep. Steve Knight, R-Palmdale, is holding a meeting for constituents in Santa Clarita Thursday afternoon.
The town hall meeting will be held at Canyon High School from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., according to a notice the Congressman’s staff issued Saturday.
“Town Halls are an effective way for elected officials like myself to connect with the district and ensure the constituents are being heard,” Rep. Knight said in a press release.
The latest town hall comes on the heels of Knight’s vote in early May to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, after protesters periodically canvassed his Santa Clarita office in the months leading up to the vote asking him not to do so.
Last week, an analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office showed 23 million fewer Americans would have health insurance in 2026 under the bill.
“This June 1st meeting will be an opportunity for the constituents to share their concerns and legislative questions,” Knight said.
The event will be open to all residents of the 25th Congressional District, which encompasses the Antelope, Santa Clarita and Simi valleys, however, space is limited and seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Town Hall meeting is being held at Canyon High School, located at 19300 Nadal Street from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
