Turn Wireless brings highspeed internet to San Francisquito Canyon

-

Regional internet provider Turn Wireless has introduced high-speed service to out-of-the-way San Francisquito Canyon.

Turn Wireless’ tower, erected in the span of about one week following a year of planning, is located on a flattened hilltop on San Francisquito Canyon Road north of Cherokee Canyon Lane. The company relied, in part, on a grassroots effort led by area resident Autumn Glading to help build a base of customers.

“Autumn is great,” Turn Wireless CEO Daniel Teferra said in a news release. “When we first contacted her about our intention to build a tower that would serve San Francisquito Canyon, she indicated that she would help us get out the word – and that’s exactly what she did! Within a few weeks, Autumn had contacted 15 other families who were interested in our high-speed wireless internet services.”

Glading was thrilled to find a solution to “slower” internet service through her cell phone provider that “can be quite expensive when I use too much data,” she said in the release.

“There was a bit of a wait on tower construction, but we are finally up and running,” Glading said.

Unlike larger providers, Turn Wireless has an advantage of being “nimble, creative and experienced in bringing internet services to locations where traditional wire-line internet is poor or not readily available,” Teferra said.

Established in 2007 and based in Newbury Park, Turn Wireless provides microwave-based fixed wireless highspeed internet service to businesses and residents across Southern California. Online: www.turnwireless.com.
