Santa Clarita Amateur Radio Club “Field Day” June 23 - 24
What: Members of the Santa Clarita Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the national Amateur Radio Field Day exercises. Ham Radio operators across North America have established temporary ham radio stations in public locations during Field Day to showcase the science and skill of Amateur Radio. This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. When: June 23-24, Saturday 6 a.m. - Sunday 11 a.m. Where: SCV Water Agency facility above Central Park, 27234 Bouquet Canyon Road, Santa Clarita.

Sierra Club SCV Group Outing – Mt. Pinos Potluck Dinner
What: Easy 4 mile RT, 500 ft. gain to Mt Pinos (8847), highest peak in Los Padres National Forest, and 20-30 degrees cooler than the SCV. Bring your own main dish and side or dessert to share, plate, eating and serving utensils, jacket and drink. Dinner at summit and back to trailhead by dark. When: 3 p.m. Where: Meet in N. Valencia by Embassy Suites (take I-5 N, exit 126/Newhall Ranch Rd., exit R to Vanderbilt, R to Westinghouse, park on street.
