Santa Clarita Valley business leaders looking to take their leadership skills to the next level can learn from a series of training sessions in the upcoming 2019 Valley Industry Association Leadership Program.

Set for one Friday every month through June, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., VIA will launch this year’s program aimed at preparing the next generation of association leaders, “with the ultimate goal of creating a continuing pathway to successor development for the organization and the business community as a whole,” according to the association’s website.

Each session is divided into topics, with the first one, titled “Connecting with Multi-Generations,” centering on communications on Friday. Other topics include ethics, change, leveraging people, team dynamics and implementation.

The program promises to offer hands-on training, team projects and opportunities to enhance professional relationships. Sessions will be led by a diverse mix of business and community leaders with proven knowledge and insight on each topic, according to VIA officials.

Offering the annual leadership program is part of VIA’s vision for the new year, said Teresa Todd, president and CEO of Point of View Communications and newly named chairwoman of the association.

At its board member installation event for 2019 in December, she shared with guests that VIA will “continue to improve, empower and connect the Santa Clarita Valley business community through leadership, education, advocacy and innovation.”
