Finding ‘love’ in SCV

A few months ago, a restaurant called I Love Sushi popped up for residents to eat their fill of raw fish.

Jason Jin, an employee of the restaurant, said the staff decided to bring their specialty rolls to Santa Clarita so people could partake in one of the town’s few all-you-can-eat sushi buffets. Hundreds of selections of Asian food fill the menu at I Love Sushi, located in the Bouquet Canyon Plaza.

“In this area, we want customers to have more value for what they buy,” he said.

The buffet is priced at $25.99 per adult for lunch and $28.99 per adult for dinner. The time limit is 90 minutes after the first round — which includes 10 pieces of nigiri sushi and two rolls — and customers can order as many rounds as they want. Children age 8 and under can eat for $13.99 for lunch and $14.99 for dinner.

Some of the restaurant’s popular selections include the “Kangnam Style Roll,” which is made up of spicy tuna, cucumber, shrimp tempura, avocado and salmon, and the “Jin’s Roll,” a personal favorite of Jin’s that includes baby shrimp, cucumber topped with salmon and eel sauce.

Other creations include the “Sexy Mango Roll,” with crab, mango shrimp and soy paper, as well as the “Palmdale Roll,” which is a deep fried California roll topped with crab, cheese, parsley and masago.

If customers don’t want the standard sushi roll, they can also try the special hand rolls, Jin said, which are large seaweed cones wrapped with rice and fish.

Beyond sushi, the restaurant also offers traditional Korean dishes, such as bulgogi beef and tonkatsu chicken, as well as Japanese udon and ramen noodle dishes.

“We hope everyone who comes through can eat sushi as much as they want,” Jin said.

The restaurant is located at 26526 Bouquet Canyon Road.
