At the event, participan­ts will run a three-mile cross country course through the COC Valencia campus, beginning at the college’s baseball field and continuing through the campus, winding through the hills overlookin­g the Santa Clarita Valley, and finally finishing inside Cougar Stadium.

Artist Tony Hanna presents “The Wonders of Creative Art”

What: Local Artist, Tony Hanna, will showcase his vibrant and inspiring artwork in a new exhibit entitled “The Wonders of Creative Art.” The solo art show will be on display in Canyon Theatre Guild’s Gallery from Nov. 23 to Dec. 23 with a reception on Nov. 30 where you can enjoy appetizers, drinks, desserts and the opportunit­y to meet the artist. “The Wonders of Creative Art” will feature more than 45 paintings that will express technique that developed through many years as a photoreali­stic artist, interweavi­ng photo and paint, teetering on the edge of realistic detail and impression­istic. Castaic Middle School’s Winter Concert Series What: The Castaic Middle School Beginning and Advanced Band features a total of 78 musicians, performing on a variety of instrument­s. Under the direction of Mr. Daniel Chandler, the students will be performing a vast array of music literature representi­ng the sounds of the season. Selections will include “The Twelve Days of Christmas” by Jack Bullock, “A Christmas Serenade” by Warren Barker and “Swing Those Bells” by Ralph Ford, to name a few. Between the performanc­es of the beginning and the advanced ensembles, there will be a 15-minute intermissi­on during which time refreshmen­ts will be sold to help support the students in their musical growth. Students have worked diligently all semester and look forward to sharing their musical gifts.

Breakfast with Santa What: Old West Chapter Order of the Eastern Star is holding its annual Breakfast With Santa with home-style breakfast with eggs, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, juice, coffee and milk. Each child will receive a cuddly animal and a picture with Santa. Old West Masonic Lodge will also conduct a child ID program at no charge. Mrs. Santa will offer homemade candies and goodies made by elves for sale. Various Christmas items will also be on sale. Tickets available at the door.

Henry Mayo Hospital’s Winter Wonderland - Holiday Home Tour

What: It’s that time of year again — the Holiday Home Tour is coming to town featuring a tour of three local homes, a Holiday Boutique and a Preview Gala. A cherished tradition in Santa Clarita for more than three decades, the event attracts people from near and far who love the excitement and novelty of the holiday season. Spectators will have the opportunit­y to view homes decorate beautifull­y by the most talented and imaginativ­e interior designers. This year’s theme, “Winter Wonderland,” will feature three profession­ally decorated homes located in the Sand Canyon area of Santa Clarita. Homeowners Brian Felkel/ Rebecca Raymond, Raul and Sandra Sandoval and Angelica Leon/Ray Mirzakhani­an are all working with their talented interior designers to create the perfect holiday tour. This year, funds raised are designated for the Center for Women and Newborns, now open in the new patient tower at Henry Mayo.

Tale of Two Symphonies What: The Santa Clarita Philharmon­ic will be sharing the stage with the Symphony of the Canyons, College of the Canyons’ student orchestra, for the season’s two concerts.
