Weapons within reach

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a Stevenson Ranch woman after an alleged domestic violence issue in the home.

Deputies responded to a report of a family argument around 8 a.m. Monday on the 25000 block of London Place in Stevenson Ranch.

“At one point, she became upset and smashed a mug with coffee in it over the back of her father’s head and tried to attack him with a picture frame,” according to an email from Sgt. Joel Nebel, citing

the preliminary arrest report. “After the father ran to a neighbor’s to call the police, the suspect attacked her mother by hitting and kicking her in the arms, head and legs.”

When deputies arrived at the home, they took the suspect into custody, and she was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Alleged arson threat

SCV Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 31000 block of Cherry Drive in Castaic after receiving a report about a man who allegedly threatened a victim with burning down her house.

“When deputies arrived, the suspect took off running and climbed over a fence, causing damage to it,” which prompted deputies to also investigate the vandalism report, according to an email from Nebel.

“Eventually, the suspect was spotted by a local neighbor as he was trying to hide under a car,” Nebel noted.

Deputies contained the area and the suspect eventually crawled out and peacefully surrendered to

officials. He was taken into custody and arrested after the first alleged victim positively identified the suspect. He was arrested on suspicion of criminal threats, vandalism and an active probation violation.

Not a good place for storage

SCV Sheriff’s Station deputies patrolling near 15th Street and Railroad Avenue made an arrest after spotting a white Audi with numerous alleged vehicle code violations.

“Deputies conducted a traffic stop to warn/cite the driver,” according to an email from Nebel. “After deputies were given consent to search the driver’s person and vehicle, they ultimately discovered the driver was a convicted felon in possession of unlawful ammunition in his shirt pocket. The suspect was booked at Santa Clarita Station.”

The suspect was booked on suspicion of illegal possession of ammunition.
