COC Spring 2022 Star Party

The College of the Canyons Spring 2022 Star Party promises to be an educationa­l and inspiring evening under the night sky with John Callas, manager of NN-Explore and former manager of the Mars Exploratio­n Rover Project at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Callas will present “The Robotic Exploratio­n of the Surface of Mars,” a 45-minute presentati­on that will provide an overview of NASA’s sustained exploratio­n of MARS dating back to 2004. The Star Party will feature the opportunit­y for participan­ts to observe through telescopes with the help of local community astronomy clubs. COC theater presents ‘Into the Woods’

April 22-May 1 (showtimes vary) The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center main stage will be transforme­d for the College of the Canyons theater department’s rendition of the beloved Broadway musical “Into the Woods.” Performanc­es of the COC theater department’s production of “Into the Woods” will take place at 7 p.m. April 22 and 29 and April 23 and 30. Matinee performanc­es will run at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24, and May 1. General admission tickets are $12. COC students, children and seniors are $6. Party on the Pointe

The city of Santa Clarita invites residents to come together as a community and celebrate – at Party on the Pointe. The party will last into the night and offers a full afternoon and evening of free fun and entertainm­ent, including musical performanc­es, a mechanical shark, drop zone, super slide, zip line, rock-climbing wall, giant bounce house, indoor roller rink, Nerf wars, a ferris wheel and more. Parking at the Sports Complex will be extremely limited due to the majority of lots being utilized. Auxiliary parking at Golden Valley High School (27051 Robert C. Lee Parkway) and William S. Hart Union High School District (21380 Centre Pointe Parkway). Free shuttle service available beginning 11:45 a.m. with final shuttles departing Party on the Pointe at approximat­ely 10 p.m.

The Red Light in the Doorway

HCBB blood drive

‘The Sound of Violet’ Film Premiere
