While demonstrat­ing their inventions to one another, they notice a silhouette­d figure in one of Daguerre’s pictures and devise an outlandish scheme to identify the individual – the first human ever depicted in a photograph­ic image. The Congregati­on Beth Shalom Film Series presents a screening of “Picture of His Life,” along with a question-and-answer session with director Dani Menkin. The film tells the story of Amos Nachoum. After serving in an elite commando unit and witnessing the horrors of war, he became one of the greatest underwater photograph­ers of all time.
