Senses Block Party: St. Paddy’s Eve

Get the party started and travel to the Emerald Isle when the St. Paddy’s Eve Senses kicks off the Senses Block Parties schedule. Play your favorite pub-style games – from darts to pool – and sip on an Irish whiskey from the on-street bar while listening to the music of Craic in the Stone. Senses brings live music, food trucks and themed activities in a festive, adult setting to Main Street on the third Thursday of each month from March through October. Senses is a free event geared toward adults and features a new theme each month. St. Clare’s 45th Annual Lenten Fish Fry

St. Clare’s Lenten Fish Fries are back with indoor and outdoor dining available, as well as take-out. The cost is $15 for two-piece dinner or tacos; $16 for three-piece dinner. A family pack is available for $55, which includes 10 pieces of fish, two sides, and rolls, coleslaw and condiments. Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted. Get Real: Adulting 101 Financial Workshop for High School Students

This project will be a simulation for high school students in the Santa Clarita Valley. The simulation will provide participants with an identity that includes a career and salary. Participants will visit booths that offer essential and non-essential goods and will learn to live within their means. Booths will be hosted by Santa Clarita businesses. COC Discover Day

Discover Day will give new and potential students the opportunity to explore program offerings and opportunities at COC. College representatives from various academic programs, student services departments, and student organizations will be on hand to answer questions about various college programs, campus services and student life. Visitors will also have the chance to tour the offices across the campus. A free lunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free and open to the public. Parking will be free in all student lots for the duration of the event.
Free Drive-thru Shredding Event

The city is hosting a free document shredding event for all Santa Clarita residents. City residents are required to preregister and select a time slot to participate by visiting city. sc/shredevent, until capacity is reached. This event assists participants with the secure destruction of documents that may contain sensitive information. While paper shredded at home cannot be recycled and should be placed in a curbside trash container, this event allows the large quantities of shredded paper to be recycled and repurposed. CBS Film Series Presents ‘Neighbours’

The CBS Film Series at Congregation Beth Shalom presents “Neighbours,” winner of the San Francisco Film Critics Jury Prize. In a little village on the Syrian-turkish border in the early 1980s, Sero, a 6-year old Kurdish boy, experiences his first year in school. A new teacher arrives with the goal of making Arabic comrades out of the Kurdish children. He uses the rod to forbid the Kurdish language and preaches hate of the Zionist enemy, the Jews. The lessons confuse and upset Sero because his long-time neighbors are a lovable Jewish family. Admission $5 per person, which includes popcorn and concessions. Fearman Oil Painting Demo

Mental Health Resources Meeting at Real Life

U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters 2023 National Tour

The Navy Band Sea Chanters are the U.S. Navy’s official chorus. TMU Theatre Arts Presents ‘Father of the Bride’

City’s Youth Arts Showcase

The city of Santa Clarita seeks local youth and student artists to submit entries for the seventh annual Youth Arts Showcase. Young artists are invited to submit an original work for a chance to be showcased during the event. The submission deadline is Friday, March 13. The annual Youth Arts Showcase celebrates the creativity of Santa Clarita Valley’s youth and students who display their talents in many disciplines. Attendees will enjoy visual and performing arts, hands-on craft stations, youth art contests, the Youth Arts Gallery, arts education, food trucks and more. American Cancer Society’s Bark for Life

Join the fun and bring your dog to the American Cancer Society’s fundraiser, Bark for Life, presented by Relay for Life of Santa Clarita Valley. The “pawsitively” festive event honors and celebrates the healing role that dogs serve as companions who relieve stress and elevate mood. The day will be filled with music, vendors, a photo booth, games, contests (including costumes and bobbing for hot dogs), and raffles. Bark for Life is a nationwide event for ACS and a kickoff for Relay for Life of SCV. In-person registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Registration includes a free goody bag. All funds raised support research and local services for patients and survivors. Guests can register their dog for $15, $10 for each additional dog.
