Carol Lucile Cogley

Nov. 18, 1934 – Feb. 16, 2023

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV Carol was born in Omaha Nebraska, the eldest child of four children born to Robert and Lucile Clary. She married Dwayne Cogley in 1952 and they had two children, Douglas and Barbara. Moving to California and the community of Canyon Country in the 1960’s, she was active in church, and taught Sunday School for many years. Carol loved the Lord with all her heart, she was a dedicated student of scripture, and her knowledge of the Bible was notable.

Carol was an excellent seamstress, and was employed by the House of Fabrics in Canyon Country. As her children got older, she worked as a realtor with Century 21 Bell, and later as a broker. She advanced her career becoming a General Certified Real Estate Appraiser on staff at Great Western Savings. Later, working as an independent appraiser, she also taught Appraisal classes at College of the Canyons. Carol retired from the appraiser profession in 2005.

Carol enjoyed a loving partnership with Charles “Chuck” Vroman. During their decades together they had fun riding bikes at the beach, traveling to the National Parks, visiting family in Idaho, attending church and social activities, and doting over their pets.

Carol was an avid reader, she enjoyed history, politics, researching the family genealogy and traveling abroad; including trips throughout Europe, the Holy Land, China, Japan, Egypt, and cruising the Danube River during her 80th birthday celebration to her ancestral home of the Czech Republic.

Carol is survived by her daughter Barbara Blankenship (Dan), granddaughter Rachel Stoll, brother Robert Clary, sister Mollie Leonard, and several nieces and nephews. Carol’s Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church of Newhall, 24317 Newhall Ave., Newhall Ca 91321. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to honor Carol’s life to her church, First Presbyterian Church of Newhall, or to Zozu Project at www.zozuproject.org
