Here Comes Santa Claus! Santa’s Workshop & Holiday Bonfire
Join us for our third annual, eveningChristmas event on Friday, Dec. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Snow date is Friday, Dec. 18.
See the Wayside Lodge transformed into Santa’s Workshop. Young visitors can help Santa make eighteenth century toys andcrafts by the warmth of the roaring fire. There will be plenty of photo opportunities with Santa, so bring your camera! Visitors are encouraged to join in with the Homestead Carolers around the Holiday Bonfire, and candlelit Boone House tours will also be offered throughout the evening. See the BooneHouse festively decorated for the holiday season and learn about the English and Pennsylvania Ger- man Christmas celebrations.
Visitors can help themselves to complimentary hot chocolate while perusing the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead Bake Sale. Find the perfect gift for someone on your Christmas list at the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead Craft Sale where you can browse hand-made ornaments and decorations. All proceeds go towards the site’s educational programs and events.
Admission: $4.00/Person (5+). Children under 5 and Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead members are free, no other discounts apply. Please no pets and no smoking. The Daniel Boone Homestead is the birthplace of the famed frontiersman, born in 1734. The Boone House, constructed in three stages throughout the eighteenth century, is a 10-room stone structure fully furnished to the period and situated on 579 acres of rolling countryside. TheDanielBooneHomestead is located halfway between Reading and Pottstown, one mile north of Rt. 422 near Baumstown. The Homestead is owned by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and historic operations are run by the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead, a local, non-profit organization.
