‘Christmas in Birdsboro’ slated for this Saturday
Celebration concludes with tree lighting and fireworks at 8 p.m.
Membersof the Birdsboro Parks & Rec. are ready to host the Seventh Annual Christmas in Birdsboro on Saturday, Dec. 12. The celebration promises to be will be an entire day for Christmas activities designed for the community’s entertainment. Participating this year will be the Boone Area Library, the Birdsboro Community Center, Main Bird Park and the Birdsboro Community Theatre.
The Boone Area Library will kick off the holiday fun at 9 a.m. with a Breakfast with Santa Event. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children under 10 years old. Tickets are available at the library. At 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., Gumdrop Lane begins with Candyland-themed games, crafts, prizes and activities. From here, folks can catch the trolley to continue the Christmas in Birdsboro journey.
The Birdsboro Community Me- morial Center will be holding its annual Christmas Craft Show from 12 to 8 p.m., featuring 45 local crafters. Activities such as face painting and cookie decorating will be taking place from 4 to 8 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available, as well as a Chinese Auction and Quilt Raffle.
Main Bird Park events start at 4:30 p.m. with horse drawn-carriage rides, live music, photos with Santa, Live Nativity, Home Depot Kids Wood Craft Station, plus craft vendors and food stations.
The Birdsboro Community Theatre has several items planned for the day — including a wine tasting event with Ridgewood Winery, musical performances by the First Street Players at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., and a meet and greet with the theatre staff.
The celebration will conclude at 8 p.m. with a Christmas tree lighting and fireworks at Main Bird Park.
