Thursday, Dec. 10

Community Blue Christmas Service: An experienti­al and ecumenical worship centered on the healing love found in Christ. Through candle lighting, anointing prayers, Holy Communion, and other sacred acts, this service speaks to all whose hearts are heavy or who simply long for a fuller sense of God’s presence in this season. Children’s Christmas Party: To be held at St. James Lutheran Church in Geigertown (1337Geiger­town Road) from 6to 8:30 p.m. Event is free; there is a suggested donation of one new pair of socks (any size and color) to be donated at the Appalachia Mission Project. RSVP to Janet at 484-772-5574.

Saturday, Dec. 12

Christmas in Birdsboro: Running from 12to 8p.m. — The annual celebratio­n will be held at the Birdsboro Community Memorial Center and Main Bird Park. Events at the BCMC start at Noon and then events in Main Bird Park start at 4p.m. Events include a craft show, vendors, entertainm­ent, carriage rides, ending at 8 p.m. with a Christmas tree lighting and fireworks. Breakfast with Santa: To be held, as a part of Christmas in Birdsboro, at the Boone Area Library from 9 a.m. to 11a.m. Tickets available at library. Hooves and Hot Cocoa: To be held from 1to 4p.m. as a holiday fundraiser for Shady Hollow Assisted Riding, 959 E Main Street in Birdsboro. Breakfast: All you can eat breakfast, 6:30-11:30a.m. Hotcakes, eggs, sausage and potatoes. Boyertown Masonic Lodge #741, Third and Jefferson Sts, Boyer- town. Costs: $7.00; Children 5-12: $4.00; 4& Under is free.

Saturday, Dec. 19

Solstice with King Winter: Spend the longest night of the year at our Angora Fruit Farm, starting at 5:30 p.m. Hike the candlelit trail to meet King Winter at his winter hut and hear stories by the fire. Learn more about the science behind the Solstice under the winter skies. This event is free and is ideal for families with kids ages 3-12. Call 484509-2667to pre-register for this fun winter event! Writers group: Mifflin Writers Group continues to meet the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month from 6:30-8p.m. Mifflin Writers Group is composed of writers of all genres and levels of experience.
