Penske Associates donate $5,000 to Reading Public Museum

-

Penske Logistics Transportation Management team has donated $5,000 to the Reading Public Museum after a year’s work of philanthropic efforts. The members of the Penske team presented their donation to The Museum’s Director and CEO, John Graydon Smith on Friday, Dec. 4.

Penske’s Transportation Management team developed an outreach group in 2014 at the company’s headquarters in Green Hills, to strengthen their unity as a department and to enhance their community involvement. All throughout 2015, the group hosted numerous fundraising efforts from pretzel and f lower sales to art auctions. The team selected The Museum to receive the donation after learning it costs $5,000 a day to run.

“We’re delighted that Penske has chosen the museum as a worthy recipient of their yearlong fundraising efforts,” said Smith. “We appreciate their support. The monies that the associates raised will help us continue providing interactive arts and science exhibits to the community.”

The Reading Public Museum is supported in part by grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and is located at 500 Museum Road, Reading. The Museum is open daily 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit www. readingpublicmuseum.org for more information.
