Detectives arrest 3 men on child pornography charges
Berks County Detectives announced Wednesday, Dec. 23, that they have arrested three men in relation to child pornography charges.
Andrew James Beauvias, 24, of Collegeville; Christo- pher J. Mullen, 57, of Douglassville and Daniel Lively, 27, of Reading, were charged by detectives from the Berks County District Attorney’s Child Abuse Unit and Major Crimes Task Force following an investigation into crimes against children.
Over several months, de- tectives conducted investigations into internet crimes against children and found that the three men were in possession of or disseminating child pornography, police said. During the investigations, police obtained warrants to search the men’s homes and seized computers containing pornographic images and other evidence. The computers were then examined by forensic detectives and were found to contain pornographic images of children, according to a press release from the Berks County District Attorney’s Office.
“The individuals arrested today are exploiting children and contributing to their continuing misery and abuse,” said Chief County Detective Michael J. Gombar. “Hopefully, our detectives’ continuing efforts will send a strong message that possessing images of child pornography is a crime and will not be tolerated.”
Berks County Detectives worked with the Delaware County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on the investigation.
All three men are currently awaiting arraignment.
