15th annual Mohnton Navy Yard Car & Bike Show held.

Mother Nature has not been very kind to the car show crowd in 2017 but that all seemed to change the second weekend in June. The cold, rainy weather and dismal forecasts gave way to a Saturday and Sunday of bright sunshine and temperatur­es rising into the high 80s and low 90s.

The 15th Annual Mohnton Navy Yard Car & Bike Show, an annual fund raising event promoted by the MohntonCum­ru Lions Club, was held on Sunday, June 11. About 130 cars, trucks and motorcycle­s registered for the event and competed for trophies in ten classes in addition to the President’s Award and the coveted “Best of Show” honors.

This year’s winners were as follows:

Best pre-1948: Charlie Boyer - 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe

Best 1948-1957: Callie Henry/Shane Ott - 1954 Chevy Belair Custom

Best 1958-1970: Paul Smith Best 1971-1985: Robert Umberger 1977 Chevy Corvette

Best 1986-2000: David Smith - 1999 Chevy Corvette

Best 21st Century: Ron Stanislaw - 2012 Cadillac CTSV

Best Truck: Jeff Hahn - 1965 Ford F100 Pickup

Best Specialty: Alan Kaafhold - 1928 Rat Rod Dumptruck

Best Import: John Soles - 1991 Porsche 944 S2

Best Bike: Carl Hess - 2011 Harley-Davidson Heritage

BEST OF SHOW: Kevin Moyer - 1930 Model A Coupe

PRESIDENT’S AWARD: Shawn Anderson - 1967 Chevy Corvette
