Shakespeare: by Kevin Rich Saturday-Sunday, June 24-25 at 4 p.m. at Gring’s Mill, amphitheater. Free Admission. This is an interactive show for kids and their family! Take a ragtag group of actors, a wandering friar, and add a young William Shakespeare to the mix, and you have one whirlwind, interactive evening for the young and the young at heart. Young “Billy” takes us through the ideas of plays he’d like to write one day: some funny, some sad, and some full of awesome swordfights! A light-hearted, engaging introduction to Shakespeare’s plays, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, and Richard III. Stay for the evening performance at 6p.,m. No Rain date. We will enjoy stories, songs, finger plays and crafts as we sing and read together with friends. It is also held the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
Sleepytime Story Time: All ages, Wednesdays, 7 p.m. Designed for all ages. We discuss feelings, yoga is incorporated to each storytime and there are opportunities to earn rewards for reading books! Free. Must attend with a parent/guardian.
Preschool Story Time: Ages 3-5 Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Designed for ages 3-5 years old. An hour of reading, singing, learning and a craft. Free. Must attend with a parent/guardian. Saturday storytime: 2nd and 4th Saturdays, 10 a.m. Designed for all ages. We will read books and play at centers (sensory, math, science, make believe) based on a new theme each week. Free. Garden Club: Pottstown Area Garden Club welcomes amateurs interested in all aspects of gardening. Meetings are held the first Friday of every month at St. James Lutheran Church, 1101 E. Stitching Circle: The Mifflin Community Library’s Evening Stitching Circle meets every Monday from 6:30-8 p.m., and the Afternoon Stitching Circle meets every Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. New members are always welcome and should bring their own materials. There are currently between 12-15 members who sew, knit and crochet. The group works on personal projects as well as service projects to benefit the community. Come join in loads of fun & stitching!
Writers group: Mifflin Writers Group continues to meet the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month from 6:30-8 p.m. Mifflin Writers Group is composed of writers of all genres and levels of experience. Their purpose is to motivate, inspire, instruct, inform, share and critique each other in their writing efforts in a free flowing and relaxed atmosphere. Most programs encourage pre-registration and take place downstairs at the Mifflin Community Library unless otherwise noted.
