DANIEL BOONE 38, MUHLENBERG 21 >> At Birdsboro Oct. 12, Tommy Buchert rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Blazers to victory over the Muhls in Berks League play.
Buchert also connected with Matt Okuniewski on a 17-yard TD pass that helped stake Boone (13, 4-4) to an early 14-0 lead. Tanner Vanderslice capped the Blazers’ night with a one-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, and Nate Millard added a 37-yard field goal to his 5-for-5 in conversion kicks. EXETER 54, TWIN VALLEY 0 >> At Reiffton Oct. 12, Kolby Haag accounted for five touchdowns, and the Eagles dominated the Raiders in a Berks Section 1 matchup at Don Thomas Stadium.
Exeter (3-1, 5-3) led 26-0 with 1:51 left in the first quarter after Haag’s second touchdown pass to tight end Matt Feeney. Haag finished 9-of-11 with 141 yards passing while the running-back tandem of Steven Rose (nine carries, 110 yards) and Jeremiah Nixon combined for 197 yards rushing. GOV. MIFFLIN 48, LOWER
DAUPHIN 7 >> Nicholas Singleton and Kolbie Reeser each figured in on three touchdowns in the Mustangs’ non-league romp over Lower Dauphin.
Singleton (11 carries, 243 yards) collected 173 of them with scoring runs of 22, 89 and 62 yards to start the game. Reeser (4-for6, 132 yards) then threw scoring passes of 54 and 32 yards to Bryce Stubler and Michael Franks before running five yards for another TD. Jaden Quilles added a 31-yard scamper for GM’s final TD.

BLAZERS GO 2-1 >> At Oley Oct. 9, Daniel Boone made a strong showing in a fourschool Berks Conference meet that included Twin Valley, Wilson and host Oley Valley. The Blazer outran the Bulldogs (2332) and Lynx (24-31) but were topped by the Raiders (19-39)
Alex Pingitore was Boone’s leading runner, placing third in 18:50.08 behind TV’s Dylan Servis (18:37.08) and Griffin Schlegel (18:41.99). Max Stefanelli placed eighth, Jacob Santos 13th and Riley Houck 14th for the Blazers (3-4, 9-6).
EAGLES SWEEP >> At Hamburg Oct. 9, the Eagles (4-3, 11-4) went 3-0 in a four-school Berks Conference meet that included Muhlenberg, Fleetwood and Hamburg. Exeter outran the Muhls (20-43), Tigers
(19-41) and Hawks (18-45).
Alex Holbrook ran second to Muhlenberg’s Jon Thrush, clocking an 18:11 to Thrush’s 17:48. Christian Pochron followed in third place, with Nathan Brinker sixth.
MUSTANGS GO 3-0 >> At Shillington Oct. 9, Gov. Mifflin swept a four-school Berks Conference meet that included Conrad Weiser, Kutztown and Reading High. The Mustangs (61, 15-3) outran the Scouts (15-44), Cougars (17-46) and Red Knights (25-3-6).
Brian Wentling came in third to lead GM, finishing behind Reading’s Cole Stoudt and Jon Wright. Mark Andrus and Nathan Harding went 4-5 behind Wentling to help the Mustangs’ sweep.
Girls cross country
BLAZERS SWEEP >> At Oley Oct. 9, Daniel Boone went 3-0 in a four-school Berks Conference meet that included Twin Valley, Wilson and host Oley Valley. The Blazers (5-2, 13-2) outran the Raiders (26-32), Bulldogs (24-34) and Lynx (1844).
Vivian Kase placed third in 22:31 for Boone, finishing behind TV’s Gina Mattera (22:16) and Wilson’s Emily Velez (22:25). Giving the Blazers other Top 10 finishes were Ashley Benoit (sixth), Hannah Santos (eighth) and Olivia Poore (10th).
EAGLES GO 3-0 >> At Hamburg Oct. 9, Exeter (6-1, 14-1) swept a four-school Berks Conference meet that included Muhlenberg, Fleetwood and Hamburg. The Eagles outran the Muhls (15-50), Tigers (1647) and Hawks (15-50).
Ella Ehrlert won the race for Exeter, she and teammate Katherine Kerchner crossing the line in 21:26. Helene Shevick followed in third place, with Sarah Smith finishing fifth.
MUSTANGS SWEEP >> At Shillington Oct. 9, Gov Mifflin maintained its unbeaten pace for the season by going 3-0 in a fourschool Berks Conference meet that included Conrad Weiser, Kutztown and Reading High. The Mustangs (7-0, 18-0) outran the Scouts (19-43), Cougars (15-50) and Red Knights (15-49).
Kallan Carter got GM individual race honors, her 21:45 clocking three seconds better than CW’s Kaitlyn Leister. Meigin Chandler, Krystalyn Super, Ariel Gardner, Rachel Ulrich and Andrea Miller followed in third through eighth places.
